Oppan lost in books. She rejects all devices, and devours only old knowledge and the creativity expressed by real people before AI began turning our minds into mush. She is doing this as a sort of experiment, wanting to see how different she might end up if she remained a Luddite. She thought she might start to notice a difference after a decade, but after 2 years she is already feeling distant and estranged from her friends and family. Its so heartbreaking to her, so now she's delving into the great works of science fiction to see if she can discover a grand scheme she may adapt to thwart the menace of AI dumbing down all those around her!
